Operating akin to Airbnb, individuals can search for shelters based on their location, capacity, amenities, and specific requirements. Shelter owners have the option to establish a profile and advertise available shelter space for temporary accommodation. The platform features a map functionality for seamless navigation and incorporates a rating system to assess safety and reliability.

Moreover, "Shelter Share" functions as a community-centric platform during natural disasters, fostering connections among users, facilitating information sharing, and enabling mutual support efforts.

How does it work?

After initially creating your profile, browse nearby shelters, and submit a reservation for the shelter you feel would help best. It will be reviewed by the Shelter Owner, and then immediately notify you once approved. This way you’re able to have something in place on days the weather is going to be extreme, as well as peace of mind. It’s better to having a backup plan, then no plan at all

How do I list my shelter?

Open the Shelter Share website on your computer or mobile browser.
